We all had a comfortable place to sleep, and were all in the same house. We were able to prepare our meals there which included eggs benedict, smoothies, pork roast, etc. We couldn't have asked for a better location...we would easily go to Whitefish for the Christmas Stroll and play, to Kalispell for a quilting class, to the airport to pick up friends, to Costco for groceries, to All About Memories for card making. On the day we were going to venture to Glacier, we were so tired from running around, we decided to spend a down-day at the Jewel watching movies. The first three days it snowed a few inches every day, on the fourth day there was enough snow to make us concerned about getting out the long drive way, but while we were getting ready to go, the snow plow appeared and cleaned up the drive way for us, so we had no problems getting out. Prior to our stay at the Jewel, I sent many e-mails asking questions about the area and for recommendations, the staff "Everything was perfect! We were always warm, cozy, and comfortable at the Jewel. We took tons of pictures and because there is internet access at the house, we were able to download our pictures to Costco, and pick them up on our next trip into Kalispell. The location could not have been better. Everything we needed was already there (except for a second coffee pot which I brought because my sister drinks a whole pot all by herself). My girlfriend from California is planning a return trip to the Jewel with her family in the summer. I could not have had a better 60th birthday, and the Jewel was the perfect place to celebrate it.

We’re getting ready to fly back to Illinois tomorrow morning and I just wanted to take a few minutes to let you know how much we enjoyed the cabin. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and we are already talking about a return trip next year.

Our first visit ever to Montana was so memorable. The Ambrose’s lovely riverfront property was the ideal location from which to explore the area. We were just minutes from whitewater rafting in Canada, horseback riding out of several different operations, and a day trip to Glacier National Park. The valley is just lovely and easy to get to. But the Ambrose’s property is really special. The main house sits high on the bluff above the Tobacco River with an amazing view of the river and valley beyond. The first morning we were there, a bald eagle was perched in the tree right outside the kitchen window. There is a short flagstone trail down to the river, where we waded extensively and could easily float in tubes down river. The house was appointed to beautifully. It comfortably slept all 8 of us in oversized, rustic beds piled high with down quilts. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. The décor was so luxurious with dark, rich woodwork, multiple indoor and outdoor seating areas, including a patio with spectacular views of the river and the valley. The property is at the end of a long driveway down a very quiet road, so we were never disturbed by noise. The barn is picturesque in its traditional red and white trim, and is and well-appointed with all its furnishings too. We would not hesitate for a minute to stay at this lovely property again on future trips and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in a first class yet family-friendly stay in the Eureka area.
